Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

When will I expect to hear from you?

I aim to respond to your messages or emails within 24 hours.

Do I need to have an introductory 15 minute session?

It is important to have this session to make sure that we are the “right fit” for each other and that I feel that I can help you. I suggest it is best that we have a chat on the phone first before you book a session.

Do I need to book a session after the introductory call?

There are no expectations that you need to follow our chat with a full session. In fact, I encourage you to spend time and reflect on how you are feeling following our chat and contact me back once you have had a think.

What happens in the first session?

This session will be getting to know each other and really trying to understand your current difficulties. We will also discuss your expectations of what you feel you want from the session/s.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no right or wrong answer here. You may want to consider internal factors such as your motivation and desire for change and how long you have had your difficulty for. You also need to consider external factors such as the amount of time you have or the financial commitment of the therapy.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

I work with a 48 hour cancellation policy and require notice within this time. Without sufficient notice you may incur the full session fee.

How do I pay for my sessions?

I prefer payment by bank transfer to be paid 24 hours before the session. Cash will be accepted in certain circumstances. I will send you a gentle reminder text to secure your session.

What if I feel too embarrassed or ashamed of my problems to discuss them?

I will work alongside you to normalise these feelings. It can be difficult to open up at the best of times. However, I will work with these feelings as and when they arise.

Listening is often the only thing that is needed to help someone.
