Qualified, registered counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP)
About me
I have worked as a Registered Nurse within the NHS for over 16 years, spending several years working in Emergency Care within Accident and Emergency Departments. I moved on to spend the majority of the next ten years working with young children and families as a Specialist Public Health Nurse, gaining a wealth of experience about brain development, perinatal mental health, parenting, adverse childhood experiences and safeguarding children. It was within those years I completed my 4 year journey training to become a Counsellor, which has led me to my most recent role working within an NHS Eating Disorders Service. I work as a Clinical Nurse Specialist delivering high intensity therapeutic interventions to patients and their families/carers. I am a strong believer that our physical, psychological and emotional health are intrinsically linked and you can’t have one without the other. Being dual trained as a Nurse and a Counsellor helps me to provide you with a fully holistic approach to the work I do.
I still maintain my work within the NHS as I am passionate about making a difference to people's lives. I run a small private counselling practice alongside this work
